David Chang Says Chefs Work Harder Than Musicians
Last week Momofuku Chef David Chang gave us his 5 desert island discs… this week he did something similar for Maxim in a column they call “Eat the Beat”. In it he compares Dylan to Ferran Adria, Britney Spears to TGI Fridays, and calls Luna’s Penthouse his “closing the deal song”. But our favorite answer was the one he gave to the first question: “What do chefs and rock stars have in common?”
Well, a lot people become rock stars because they want to become famous, and that was never really a motivation for any cook until very recently. So there are some similarities, like the hours, but really, we work a lot a lot harder than musicians.”
I don’t suppose there are any Rock Stars out there who would like to offer a retort?
